Tuesday To Do | Vintage Book Page Sachet Advent Calendar

Envelope Advent Calendar - Callaloo Soup

Vintage Book Page Advent Calendar on Callaloo Soup-2

I’m pretty excited about this Advent Calendar idea, which has been brewing in my head for a while. I do need to apologise for the poorly lit photos though – natural light has not been possible around here lately, but I really wanted to get this tutorial up with a few days to spare before December 1st.

Supplies

Sneak Peek of Advent Calendar (1 of 4)
Vintage Book Pages – enough to make 24 sachets and at least 9″x7″ in size

Sachet template – Download here: A4 size | Letter Size

Paper scissors

Zig zag scissors (optional)

Metal ruler

Bone folder

Kraft cardstock (not shown)

Paper punch -I used a scalloped heart about 1.5″ tall

Acrylic stamps – numbers and decorative

washi tape

baker’s twine

red and black stamping inks

24 mini clothespins

Instructions

1. Print out the template onto heavy card and cut out. Use the template to cut 24 pieces from the book pages by placing template on the page and drawing around it in pencil

Tip: You can stack 3 to 4 pages together and cut them at once to make this go faster. Just be sure to hold them tightly together or secure them together with a clip to prevent them shifting.

Now cut out the shapes using scissors. I used regular scissors for the sides and bottom, and the zig zag scissors for the top edge

3. Form the bags by scoring along the lines indicated, and folding and sticking them as shown below

6. Place treat in bag, fold over top, and hang from baker’s twine with mini clothespins

These are sized for a small light treat, or you can use it to hold a card with an activity for each day.

You can choose whatever colours of twine, tape and inks you like to go with your holiday decor!

Another idea is to simply make the bags to hold gift cards or as a gift tag on a bigger gift.

If you make a version of these I’d love to see it!
