a very literary weekend

i immersed myself in all things literature over the weekend. not only did i attempt my first ever 24 hour readathon, i was also dipping into the bocas lit fest, an annual festival of caribbean literature which was being held virtually. because of the time difference, i wasn’t able to attend all the sessions i hoped, but i still got a good dose of caribbean writing and culture, and of course my tbr has grown again!

here are my stats from the readathon.

during the bocas list fest i enjoyed watching a short film entitled “port-of-spain – a writer’s heaven”, enjoyed an extempo session, laughed uproariously at a puppet sketch, was awestruck by young spoken word poets, and attended two panel discussions: “placing the caribbean in caribbean writing”, and “imaginary homelands”. i was reminded just how creative and talented my caribbean people are! i am already looking forward to next year with the hope that parts of the festival will remain virtual.

oh, and i got a bingo in the readathon!

so how was your weekend?
